Minyon Falls: What to Expect
Minyon Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in the Northern Rivers, dropping roughly 100 metres into a rainforest gorge inside Nightcap National Park. From the Minyon Falls car park, a short, well-formed track leads to a fenced lookout directly across from the falls. This is the option for anyone who wants the view without committing to a longer walk — allow 15–20 minutes there and back.
The Minyon Falls Loop Track
For a longer walk, the loop track descends into the gorge and follows the creek to the base of the falls before climbing back out — a genuine bushwalk rather than a lookout stroll, with real elevation change. Sturdy shoes matter here; the track can be slippery after rain.

When to Visit
The falls run fullest after rain, which also makes the loop track more slippery — if you want photos of a strong flow, go a day or two after rain rather than during it.
